“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do”

Favourite thing about competing?
The best part about competing is the ability to put it all together on the one day that it counts. It is the challenge of bringing the years of hard work and dedication all down into one moment. I love having the chance to prove to myself what I am capable of and to show everyone that the work they have put into supporting me has paid off. It is the true display of everything you have worked for and in the end, it is all worth it.
Role model and why?
I really look up to Ali Day. He is so personable and its inspiring because he makes the dream feel real. He wasn’t this superstar young kid, he worked really hard and now he is dominating our sport. He made me believe in myself, that I could do it. I appreciate how humble he is and that he makes an effort to inspire the younger generation. I am very grateful that he took a genuine interest in how I was performing and I look up to him as a true mentor.
What inspires you to be your best?
100% the people around me. I am so fortunate that I have so many people who support me and genuinely want to see me achieve my goals. As a knock on effect, I want to achieve those goals for all of those people as well.
I am fortunate to have really great coaches and mentors who believe in me and my vision.
Lastly, I would not be anywhere without my family, they are my biggest motivation. We are a big tight knit family and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Do you have a routine to help you get into your best-focused state?
Being an elite athlete means it’s just as much mental as it is physical. I’m very lucky to have a great support system around me that help me to bring forward my best self. I understand the importance of the mind in sport and I ensure I am always around those people who keep me relaxed and happy (my family).

A podium finish in a round of the Nutri-Grain Series
Favourite food to eat the night before a big competition?
Spaghetti bolognaise always!
Favourite song to listen to prior to competing or during training?
Why do you choose Engine?
I choose Engine because they believed in me before anyone else did. Engine have supported me since day one and have done anything and everything they can to help me chase my dreams. The thing I love about Engine is it’s not just a brand, it’s a family and I align so well with who they are and what they stand for as a company. They are the best of the best :)
Favourite Engine Product? Why?
That is such a hard question because there are so many favourites but I would have to say the goggles, they have never let me down.
