Round One 

Ironman Ali Day has continued his unbeaten streak in the Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series, making it nine from nine wins today at Kurrawa Beach on the Gold Coast. In round three, the top 20 ironmen and top 20 ironwomen battled it out in the gruelling Survival format, where six athletes were eliminated after each of the first two races before an eight person final.

In the men’s competition, Day was again unstoppable, storming home to claim the win ahead of Matt Bevilacqua (Northcliffe) and Jy Timperley (Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park).

In the women’s, Northcliffe’s Harriet Brown made her move to stamp her claim on top spot, with defending champion Lana Rogers and New Zealander Danielle McKenzie rounding out the podium.

Round Four 

The fittest surf lifesavers in the country have shown how they can navigate big surf conditions during the Super Sprint today at Kurrawa Beach.

Reigning IronMan champion Ali Day. (Surfers Paradise) put on another dominant performance, showing his sensational surf skills, jagging a wave from half way home to claim the win in front of Matt Bevilacqua (Northcliffe) and Jy Timperley (Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park).

In the IronWoman race, Harriet Brown (Northcliffe) continued her sensational run, leading from start to finish in the final race. Despite starting off a six second handicap, Brown set up a commanding lead in the opening swim leg, which she held onto throughout the ski and board. Georgia Miller impressed everyone on the beach, coming back from a 39 second handicapped start to finish in second spot. Brown and Miller’s Northcliffe team mate, New Zealander Danielle Mckenzie rounded out the podium in third.

Round Five 

Young gun Ironman Finn Askew has put an end to his team mate and idol, Ali Day’s winning streak, taking out Round 5 of the Nutri-Grain IronMan Series today at Kurrawa Beach.

Starting off a 26 second handicap in the final race, Askew managed to keep his cool in the board leg, before having the swim of a lifetime, Askew was neck and neck with Bevilacqua coming in on the final ski leg, but it was young gun Askew who managed to hold his line.

Georgia Miller has shown that she is The Specialist,  taking out Round 5 of the Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series at Kurrawa Beach today.

The 24-year-old was ruled out of the opening two rounds of the 2022 Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series due to health concerns, but never missed a beat today in The Specialist format.

Round Six

After seven years in the Nutri-Grain IronMan Series, Currumbin’s Ben Carberry has won his first ever professional ironman race, in big surf conditions at Kurrawa Beach today.

Carberry grew up in Warilla Barrack Point (NSW), and relocated to the Gold Coast in 2015 to pursue his ironman dreams. Carberry was ecstatic to claim his maiden Nutri-Grain IronMan Series win.

Ali Day went on to seal another Podium Finish which left him as this years Iron Man Series Champion. 

Ali Day wins the Iron Series, Matt Bevilacqua takes second and Jy Timperley rounds out the podium in third.

Georgia Miller has claimed back-to-back round wins in the Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series, crossing the line first at Kurrawa Beach today.

Big surf conditions again put the ironwomen through their paces, with 6-foot sets with athletes having to use all their surf skills they had at their disposal.

Miller sat in second for the ski and swim leg of the final race, before jagging a wave from the cans all the way home on board. Despite finishing eighth today, Harriet Brown takes out the overall Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series crown for the second time, ahead of New Zealand’s Danielle McKenzie in second, and veteran Courtney Hancock in third.
